“BeeHive Evangelism affirms my belief that as believers we are not to be afraid of the different environments people live in. We must do as Jesus did and be willing to enter that particular lifestyle, find common ground, then talk of God. BeeHive Evangelism explains that our witnessing needs to be natural, not forced, for people pick up on our body language and know of our sincerity. Only then will they openly listen to what we believe.” Dale Holland Active Member and Leader Community Church of Copper Mountain CO - SBC |

For ten years, Dub sold securities. During that, time he purchased a book titled the future ain't what it used to be. Its theme is about marketing your product in our changing culture. It identifies 40 trends taking place in America. If a business wants to survive in this changing culture, it must learn to identify these tight-knit groups and package its product to appeal to them. The book says, "As our national culture continues to come apart at the seams, people are coming together through various types of close-knit relationships. We call these new communities beehives." The book says these new tight-knit communities are bound together by common social, political or leisure interest and have become the "extended family". These beehives are energetically reshaping the format of relationships, forming values, activities and a view of life. America is no longer shaped through traditional venues of family, church, and school. Beehive Evangelism's title for this ministry was coined to indicate the need for penetrating and reaching these pockets of lostness. Beehive Evangelism concepts grew out of trying to share Jesus in a traditional way with people trapped in these secular progressive leisure-focused communities. Traditional methods lacked effectiveness and just rarely worked. Most people in the leisure culture misunderstood conversations about Jesus. They had neither a Bible background nor a Biblical concept of the God who created the universe and supervises everything He created. Even their understanding of sin was different than what the Bible calls it. Obviously, their sin nature has twisted their view and understanding of God's character and the One he sent to rescue us, Jesus Christ.
Dub and Pat found the most effective way to get this postmodern leisure culture to honestly hear the Gospel message is to develop an engaging relationship where one can talk about God's activity in one's personal life. In sharing the stories of how God has guided, corrected, forgiven and engineered the details of our lives, people are attracted to God's involvement in a follower's life and hearing how he can do the same in their lives. This kind of storytelling is the most effective way to win an honest hearing about the life changing power of Jesus. When a follower of Jesus catches the insights of Beehive Evangelism training, their minds and hearts (and hopefully their actions) start entering "beehives" not usually on the list of places to go, like starting a church in a bar, coffee shop, laundry, mall, ski slope—the list goes on. | ![]()
